Abstract
Conservation efforts, biodiversity hotspots, global warming, desertification, human migrations and armed conflicts are closely influencing each other. Wars inevitably distort the ways in which humans are dependent on their habitat and we discuss how closely interwoven our planet, the environment, human societies and conflicts are. Despite many studies on war-induced migrations, one aspect that has been severely underestimated is the impact of armed conflicts on habitats and climate, a driving aspect that must be embedded in future IPCC scenarios.File in questo prodotto:
