In this article, the author of the Catanese version of the story Zio Paperone e il PDP 6000 (Topolino, nr. 3608) analyzes his own adaptation work. The goal was to create a text that would make readers smile while also serving as a document of con-temporary spoken Catanese, specifically in the variety mastered by the author. The transcription criteria (§ 2) and the translation strategies (§ 3) were designed to support these goals. As for the transcription, the choice of a system that graphically represents all phonological phenomena aims to allow even non-Catanese and non-Sicilian readers to reproduce the phonetic (segmental) substance of Catanese. The translation strate-gies, on the other hand, follow those already used by the most well-known Catanese comic actors of the past and present. Numerous examples are analyzed for each strat-egy, comparing the source text and the translated version.

Abstract
Numerous examples are analyzed for each strat-egy, comparing the source text and the translated version.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
