The purpose of this study is to contribute to the interpretation of certain animal images (and their associated captions) found on the verso of the Artemidorus Papyrus. The analysis focuses in particular on the following images: V9: ξιφίας (and θυννόπριστις)—for which the evidence has, for the first time, been compared with the images and inscription of the so-called Sapphirus Constantii, a source surprisingly neglected by previous scholarship; V5: λαγωός; V6: κάστωρ; V21: καμηλοπόρδαλις; and V29: ἀστροκύων.
